St. John Bosco

St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello founded the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco) under the patronage of St. Francis De Sales. Their mission is to provide Christian education and formation to the young, especially the poor and to women at risk. They joyfully proclaim the gospel and promote a more just and humane society.

Let Some Words from Our Salesian Saints Guide Your Way

In a very special way, we must feel the urge to save souls, because this is the holiest of all things… We shall be called upon to answer for the souls that were entrusted to our care.
St. John Bosco
Remember that only one thing is necessary, to save your soul. For us religious, it is not only enough to save your soul. We must become holy and, through our good works, help many other souls who are waiting for our help to become holy, too.
St. Mary Mazzarello
Be loving and kind to your neighbor. Do not despise the poor. Do not treat anyone with coldness and you will be respected by all.
Laura Vicuna
What else do I need to be happy? Nothing in this world. Just to be able to see face to face the God I adore in Faith on the altar!
St. Dominic Savio
When I go home I will be my people’s cacique (chief). I must teach them what they really need, things about the true God and His Mother. We poor Indians never knew about them until the padres came.
